They are used to machine any workpieces and in particular to grind spindles internally or externally. The present invention relates primarily to the manufacture or machining of spindles, but is not intended to be limited thereto. Such a grinding method and a corresponding processing machine for wavy workpieces is shown for example in DE 10 2009 013 050 A1. This device essentially consists of a workpiece spindle and a tailstock, the workpiece spindle being movable along first guides. It has a grinding spindle with an internal grinding body, a grinding headstock with a grinding wheel for external grinding, in which case the grinding headstock and the grinding spindle can each be moved in the vertical and horizontal directions via vertical slides and horizontal slides.
